July 8, 2014 -- Zariquiegui, Spain

This will be a short post after yesterday's long-winded affair. This morning we were awakened in Casa Paderboen at 6 am by the beautiful singing voice of the husband of the German couple, and after breakfast, I was on the trail before 7. I had to walk through the center and western suburbs of Pamplona. The running of the bulls takes place at 8, so I knew enough to deviate from the normal path to circumvent the crowds, but I didn't avoid all of the drunks, one of whom insisted on walking with me for a spell uttering incoherent phrases, much to the amusement of other passersby.

To sum it up, I only walked seven miles today and stopped early to give my legs a much-needed rest.
